Sponging with Shimmer for CAS Mix Up

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up!

I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared here.

I started by masking a piece of white and sponging some Distress Ink
Then I brushed Perfect Pearls over the top while the ink was still damp.
It makes for a wonderful shimmer!

I've die cut the sold butterfly from vellum and the open butterfly from white.

Here's a close up of the shine.

I used Stamping, Sponging, Masking, Perfect Pearls, Heat Embossing, Dry Embossing, Die Cuts and Vellum.

The Design Team has some awesome inspirations pieces to show you.

And we have another fantastic Guest Designer, Maura,
who won the October Challenge.

Here's some videos if you'd like some ideas.

Love the beautiful and bright colours of your sky Bonnie. Great ombre technique and so pretty with the pearly shine on top. Your vellum butterfly and vellum banner add airiness and let the colours show through. xx

Beautiful card Bonnie! Love all that shine you created too. It's been so dreary and rainy with NO sunshine for the past week and a half here in Michigan that your card just makes me smile with all its lovely brightness!! :0)

I love the way you embossed (both dry and heat) the vellum and double-layered it - great effect and texture. The shimmer is so beautiful - a perfect background for the butterfly.

I thought your title read: Sponging for Summer given the warm color palette you used. I love it. Great idea to make the solid butterfly out of vellum. That's a trick I need to remember.
