Masculine Cards for Merry Monday

It's the last Merry Monday in November.
Thanks to this challenge all my Christmas cards are made.
Now to get them mailed!

Kathy is our hostess this week.  This is what she chose.

I've used the Sizzix Bigz Deer again.
He was cut from a piece of mixed media paper and stamped with
the retired Sanded Background stamp.  I used an Aqua Painter to spread the ink a bit.

Then I just popped him on a piece of embossed snowflakes.

Easy peasy!

Enjoy!

I got the idea for doing the hanger thingy from Nancy Stislow.
I am in awe of all her tags!

Now that I have some tags, I need to start Christmas shopping.

A Pink Poinsettia for Merry Monday

Good Merry Monday morning.

Debbie chose a color challenge for us this week.

I used a piece of Inka Gold Smooshed with water for the background.
I love the shine and variation in color you can get with this technique!

This was a first pull through it and has such vibrant colors.
The more water you spritz and the more times you pull a piece of cardstock
or watercolor paper through it, the lighter the color gets.

I die cut and embossed the poinsettia then sponged the edges of the petals and shaped them.

I'm going to add it to the
This challenge ends on Thursday.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Here's my 11th tag for
Loll's Twelve Tags of Christmas Event

The linky is open until the end of the day on November 25th.
So there's still time to enter a tag.

This time I die cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped with some
tiny snowflakes in white ink.

Then I sprinkled some Chunky White Embossing Enamel on top
and heated from behind to melt it.

I added some wooden snowflakes, one which was sponged with white ink.

A die cut sentiment and it was done.

My mixed media are Stamping, Heat Embossing, and Die Cuts

Holly & Script Tag

There's still time to enter at Loll's Twelve Tags of Christmas

I got behind so here is my 10th tag

I die cut this fantastic shaped tag from watercolor paper and used
Loll's Smooshing with Ink technique.
to color it up.

Then I die cut this beautiful holly and colored it with Zigs and my Aqua Painter.

I finished off with some stamped script.  I picked up the wrong color ink for the first stamping
so that's a bit darker than I intended. Oh well.

I used stamping, watercolor smoosh, die cuts, and watercoloring.

Joyful Poinsettia Tag

It's Day 12 of Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll & Friends.

This is tag 9 for me.  I'm behind.

I've used bits from my UFO box again.

The poinsettia was stamped, heat embossed and colored on the back with Blendabilities.
It was already cut and ready to go.

I popped it on a die cut tag that had been stenciled with some Antique Linen ink.
Then I fussy cut a piece of gold foil a bit bigger and dry embossed it.

A snippet of sheer gold ribbon to adorn the top and
some gold gems for the center and it was done.

My mixed media are, stamping, heat embossing, coloring with alcohol markers,
stenciling, die cutting and dry embossing.

Wooh! That's a lot for one little tag!

There are a lot of awesome tags in Loll's gallery.  I hope you'll check them out.
And I hope you'll add one, or two, or three, or.....

Christmas Sled Tag

I'm behind.  But the linky will be open until the 25th.

Here's my tag for today.

I used a piece of Brusho background and cut it in the shape of a tag.

The sled is a Memory Box die.  I cut it from a piece of Crumb Cake
that had been stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp and
cut again from a snippet of silver foil.

The snowbanks are torn from white snippets and I added some Dazzling Details to the edges.

A stamped sentiment is from my new favorite Christmas set, Festive Snippets.

A bit of greenery and ribbon finished it off.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Christmas Script for CAS Watercolour Reminder

We're halfway through the CAS Watercolour November Challenge!

My but time flies!

(other than a sentiment)

I pulled out a background piece that had been done by sprinkling with Brushos
and spritzing with water.  I added a little Inka Gold smoosh to it too.

I stamped it with the Christmas Background stamp using my MISTI.

I heat embossed the stamping then placed it back in my MISTI and stamped
and embossed again.  That gave it a nice thick embossing that showed better with
the dark background.

I cut off some of the piece because it was a bit bigger than I wanted.
I die cut the tallest tree from the leftover piece to put on the inside.

The trees are die cut several times and stacked for dimension.
(I used some snippets of Neena to put behind the Glimmer.)

I hope you'll add some text to a card and share it with us at
CAS Watercolour Card Challenge

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Botanical Bloom for CAS Mix Up Reminder

We're halfway through November already!

There's still time to join in at CAS Mix Up

I had a Christmas card ready to share today, but was in the mood to do
something a little more feminine and fun.

I used my MISTI to stamp the large flower first, inking it with markers and
adding color with my Aqua Painter.  I find that smearing some ink from
the markers on a piece of laminated card stock and picking the ink up
with the brush gives me more control.

While that was drying, I stamped the flower on a sticky note and
cut out the larger pieces to use as masks.

Once the masks were in place, I stamped two other sprigs from this fantastic Altenew set
using the same technique.

I put the masks back on the flower heads and threw some splatters on for good measure.

These bright flowers make me smile.

There's lots of masking techniques.  This is my favorite.

There's some video links at the CAS Mix Up challenge site if you're interested.

I'm going to enter this at the Altenew November Challenge too.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Woodland Frost for Merry Monday

Good Merry Monday Morning!

We've finally had our first frost here in Eastern NC!

It's beginning to feel more like fall.

Deanne has given us a color challenge this week.

I've inked the Woodland Embossing Folder with Smoky Slate ink,
sprayed with water and embossed.

I made quite a mess!  But I was able to salvage a small piece that didn't look too bad.

It's a good think I like CAS cards!

I grabbed some snippets of white cardstock and tore them for snowbanks.

Then I smacked the piece with VersaMark and used some Heat & Stick powder,
heat embossed and added Dazzling Diamonds to get that frosty look.

I'll take my snippets to

Snowflake Ribbon Tag

It's Day 7 of Loll's Christmas Tag Event.

I'm having so much fun making these tags!

I've again pulled things from my UFO box.  It's fun to challenge myself to use these bits.

The background is a piece of Inka Gold Smoosh.
You can find Loll's video tutorial here.

The snowflake ribbon was cut from a piece repurposed from something.
I don't remember where it came from.

I've cut the joy from foam and glimmer so I could get some extra dimension.

I realized I didn't have any stamping so I added a "to you" at the bottom
and embossed it with silver.  If you don't look close, you'll miss it!

So I have stamping, heat embossing, Inka Gold smoosh, and die cuts.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Merry Skates

It's Day 6 of Loll's Christmas Tag Event

Our tags are to have mixed media plus stamping.

I had found a package of corrugated tags on a clearance shelf.

I've always wondered about die cutting pieces of corrugated cardboard.
Does the Big Shot flatten the ripples?
One of these days I'll find out.  But for now it was nice  having them all cut.

I sponged some white ink over the ripples.

The skates were in (you guessed it) my UFO box.
All I had to do was fussy cut them, add them to some more of the leftover pine branches,
stamp, emboss and punch the sentiment label.

So I have stamping, sponging, heat embossing, die cuts, fussy cutting and punching.

That's a lot for this little tag!

I am so enjoying all the wonderful tag ideas in this challenge!

Not only does Loll have a tag each day but she has an awesome Guest Designer creation too!

Do check it out!

Snowy Tree Tag

It's Day 5 of Loll's Tag Event.

If you haven't already visited the gallery, you've missed some awesome tags!

I found some mulberry tags in my stash.  I'm not sure where they came from.

I cut a tag a bit larger from a snippet of white cardstock to mount it on.

The little snowy tree is a die cut,  After putting all the pieces together it got snowed on
with some Sparkle Texture Effect and decorated with stickers.

I used stamping, die cuts, heat embossing, mulberry paper and texture.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Snowy Tree Tag

It's Day 4 of Loll's Tag Event

I'm still trying to empty out  use up some of the bits and pieces in my Christmas UFO Box.

It seems like everyday it gets fuller instead of emptier!?!

Today's tag uses some die cut pine from last week's class.  I had a few pieces left over.

First I held a tag punched with the Elegant punch that's been on the Clearance Rack
against a snippet of white that was a bit wider and had been splattered with gold.
I carefully cut around the shaped top cutting it just a bit bigger.

I dry embossed some more pine at the top and ended up with a crease. Yikes!
So I extended the crease to make a score line.
I thought two would look a little better, so I scored again.
Saved!

My mixed media are stamping, dry embossing, splatter and die cuts.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
